Por la zona que tú te mueves (l'Ampurdá) hay un piloto profesional español que se llama Miki Arpa, y que suele preparar unos cursillos muy divertidos.

Ahora en Noviembre tiene uno para chicas, y en Diciembre hay uno de chicos, pero supongo que tambien admite chicas. Creo que no coinciden las fechas, ya que tú vendrás en Navidad y el curso es el 10 y 11. Una pena, pero puedes echar un vistazo a su web http://www.mikiarpa.com (creo que hay versión en inglés).

En todo caso puedes contactarles por mail, y a lo mejor te ayudan en lo de tus rutas. Están en Vulpellac/Peratallada, ya te digo, muy cerquita de donde vas tú.

They sell a CD of Topografic Catalonia 1:250 000 (ràster)

I don't know if they can send you the CD to your country, but you can contact with they by e-mail and ask it.

I can send you also some maps of Girona zone but the resolution is not very good.

Lo siento, pero solo tengo mapas de Cataluña. Por la red no he visto ninguno de Mallorca o Baleares, pero si tienes el CompeGPS, puedes ver los mapas a traves de la web del Sigpac, o directamente en

Ple-a-se, donw-lo-ad the pro-gram "COMPEGPS" (COMPGIPIES), it a-llows to donw-lo-ad ca-li-bra-tes maps from the place you need in internet. It Only needs a wpt or a track to situate the zone you want.

Usually, the best calibrated maps (aerial photos!!) are in the orthosigpac page.

Even if you still want to go to ride in that area after knowing all the problems you can find, I think you better try to find any club in the area and so you can ride with people who knows the place and that can help you if you find any inconvenience out there.

Maps are not safe, They can show you where to go (At times :oops: ), but thre is no way they can help you in the track. Much better a nice gang to help each other than ride on your own.

Be aware of sharks... it's a high risk squalid area :lol: :lol: :lol:

Don't worry! I will definitly NEVER go alone for enduro-riding - it is too dangerous. One time I broke my rip (during a race - so I had enough help), and another time I dislocated my thumb in Hungary...it also was at a race, but one lap was 25km, I was in the deepest forest and unfortunately nobody came around --> I had to put the thumb back myself....OUCH!!!

I also got the maps of cataluna today per email - but unfortunately I have to wait one more month for riding... :cry:

However - It is never too cold for riding - you just have the wrong equipment!!!!
